Snoop Dogg Has a Cookbook and We Want to Try ALL The Food

The Cookbook by Snoop Dogg That Has Everyone's Attention

Snoop Dogg has always been a favorite celebrity in the cannabis community. The “Doggfather” is mostly known for his impressive music career, spanning genres including west coast style gangsta rap, reggae (under the alias “Snoop Lion”), and even psychedelic electronic sounds under the moniker DJ Snoopadelic. However, in addition to his vast music career, Snoop has also dabbled in acting, producing, entrepreneurship, and television just to name a few.

Snoop Dogg’s consistent references to his love of cannabis are not only evident in his music and acting career, he has also invested in several weed-centric business ventures such as Eaze, a weed based delivery startup in California, Merry Jane, a publication devoted to news related to, you guessed it, Maryjane, and his own cannabis line called Leafs by Snoop.

With all the above under his belt, it’s no wonder Snoop has achieved icon status among stoners worldwide. But his recent career exploits have endeared him in our stoner hearts even more. I’m talking, of course, about his new found place in the world of culinary personalities.

It started in 2016 when Snoop paired up with the most unlikely partner, Martha Stuart. The due host the Primetime Emmy nominated TV show titled “Martha and Snoops Potluck Dinner Party.”

Following the success of the show, Snoop has expanded on his newfound culinary fame with the release of his first cookbook, “Crook to Cook: Platinum Recipes from Tha Boss Dogg’s Kitchen.”

Featuring a smorgasbord of Snoop approved dishes, this collection is a stoner’s dream and we can’t wait to try all 50 of the mouthwatering recipes!

Though the book doesn’t include any straight-up cannabis concoctions, this quote from the Dogg himself around release time definitely implies the stoner-friendliness of the recipes inside: “You know it’s blazin’ up in my kitchen, I’m takin’ the cookbook game higher with a dipped and whipped collection of my favorite recipes, ya dig?”. And some recipes, such as the Bow Wow Brownies definitely hint that the addition of some primo herb would definitely elevate the recipe to a higher plane.

A peek into some of the food on offer

With a wide range of recipes ranging from OG hood classics to high-end fancy feasting, the one thing most of Snoop’s recipes have in common is the fact that the ingredients are easy to source and the recipes are simple enough to follow that even those who are less comfortable in the kitchen or slightly impaired by the chronic should be able to manage them.

Soul food and southern favorites

It’s little surprise that soul food classics like chicken and waffles, mac and cheese, and barbeque “baby got back ribs” make an appearance. The chicken and waffle recipe looks particularly good, with buttermilk fried chicken in a cornmeal batter, yum!

Hood classics

Hood classics like the OG fried bologna sandwich are just crying for a fat joint to go along with them, plus the recipe looks easy enough to handle even at the peak of your high. In the recipe intro, Snoop states: “Now this is a certified hood classic. When I was a young’in in need of something to snack on, I could count on the fridge to hold me down with some leftover cold cuts. A favorite munchie was discovered when I had the bright idea of throwing that bologna in a frying pan.”

Breakfast staples

Omelets and pancakes with sour cream in the batter and classic Aunt Jemima syrup are just a couple of the classic breakfast items to be found. Elevate your breakfast game with the addition of some candied bacon (dubbed “millionaire’s bacon”) and you’ve got the perfect recipe for the next time you wake and bake.

To satisfy your sweet tooth

Did we mention the bow wow brownies and ice cream? There are a few desserts on offer, most of which sound tasty, but Snoop himself states “My greatest recipe is Bow Wow Brownies. The key is to make sure they're nicely baked. If I really want to take it up a notch, I might even add a dash of my secret ingredient — a sprinkle of Snoop's herbs and spices really gives those things a kick. They'll come out the oven smelling real aromatic, and a couple bites will leave you feeling like you're on cloud nine. So what the hell you waiting on? Go get baked!” and who are we to pass up on that endorsement?

Haute cuisine

Pimp out in style with luxurious favorites like the decadent lobster thermidor and the classic filet mignon.

Cocktails

Snoop Dogg may be most known for drinking gin and juice (so, of course, you’ll find an elevated tropical version of the classic), but you’ll also find some other fun twists on classic cocktails like the That Thang Singapore Sling and Snoop’s own take on the Corpse Reviver.
